As I am just starting out, maybe a lightly better then beginner, photographer so I wanted to take full advantage of my new Sony a3000. This book is great. It has basics I understand and more advanced information I hope to grow into. Because this is my first Sony camera I found the menus completely different then what I was used to. This book did a very good job explaining the camera's settings and also how to find the settings in the menu system. One big advantage was I found was that not all camera settings work in all the modes. In 'Auto' many menu items are grayed out or gone but this book explained all of the modes and which settings worked in each...very helpful. One large chapter was all about lens. After seeing the price of a prime Sony lens I will stick with the one it came with for now...so not a helpful chapter for me at this point. There was quite a bit a just general photography lighting tips. Some were beyond me and of little interest however I may come back to it in the future. Overall I am very happy with the book and expect it well help me take better photos. I seems to have a broad range of information from beginner to pretty advanced.
